AOC Cahors

100% Malbec

Ratings (vintage 2020) :

  • Wine Enthusiast: 95/100

A finely balanced wine, rich in ripe tannins and juicy blackberry fruits, this is impressive and elegantly dense. The smoky aroma of this wine, from a parcel of old Malbec, named after Charles Verhaeghe who planted the first vines at Château du Cèdre more than 60 years ago, is structured and will age further.” – Roger Voss.

  • La Revue du vin de France : 95/100
  • James Suckling : 94/100

« A focused, structured and pulpy malbec with aromas of spiced plums, dried violets, sandalwood and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Driven and serious, yet it remains velvety and juicy at the center. Gentle purple fruit and spices bring vitality to the compact but long finish. Drink or hold. »
